F.Scott Schafer’s brilliantly, tongue in cheek “Ball’s Out” campaign for the Hair Metal band Steel Panther has been deemed likely ‘to cause serious and widespread offence’ by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority, after compliants by members of the public.

The band are a parody of 80’s heavy metal and crib the likes of Motely Crue, Poison and Bon Jovi. The bands label Universal Music refute the claims the campaign is degrading to women and issued a statement saying the image is designed to:

“poke fun at the ridiculousness of the attitude to women, outfits and music in that era”
