This week sees the launch of the 2015 Taylor Wessing Photo Prize Exhibition, which features Joey L’s portrait of ‘Sarya’.

Earlier this year Joey travelled to Syria and Iraq to meet the men and women who make up the Kurdish guerrilla groups fighting against Islamic State.
His documentary work on this subject matter has also seen him earn first place in the ‘Professional: People, Portrait’ category in the International Photography Awards as well as the Grand Jury Prize at this years Zero Film Festival.
